As a fun year end activity, eligible Grade 7’s will be travelling by bus to Deep Cove in North Vancouver to participate in a guided 2 hour kayaking trip and class hike. The Grade 7’s will be split into 2 groups with one on the water and one doing a hike around Deep Cove.

This is a fun and epic way to end the year but as always, safety is our key concern. Students must have demonstrated CATS (Caring, Accountable, Trustworthy, and Safe) behaviour consistently over the entire year in order to participate. Consultation between teachers and administration will determine those students who are eligible to participate. Again, safety is our paramount concern as well as listening and following directions 100% of the time.

What to wear/What to bring

**All paddlers should bring a water bottle and a full change of clothes and towel for after the tour. YOU WILL GET WET KAYAKING.**

Recommended Clothing:

  • Rain pants (This is our most highly recommended piece of clothing).
  • Synthetic fabrics (Non-cotton layers)
  • Wind/rain shell
  • We strongly encourage sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses (with a strap) if it is hot and sunny.

Please DO NOT WEAR ANY DENIM OR COTTON. When these fabrics get wet they take a long time to dry.

This will increase your odds of being cold out on the water.

If it is forecast to rain on the day of your activity please bring a rain coat. Our tours **RUN RAIN OR SHINE**
